Getting the first purchase over the line

In this short update, a member returns after an earlier video about getting a property under contract. The purchase had since closed, and demolition had started.

The member says a lender and a gap funder from the community provided the project’s financing. Both relationships were part of moving from an accepted offer into an active rehab.

Working through the questions

The purchase included a few difficulties. The member describes Jake responding with questions that helped them think through the situations, rather than simply making every decision for them.

The advice at the end of the recording is practical: build relationships with lenders, agents, and contractors, and keep doing the work. The house was still being renovated, so this story captures the start of the project rather than a finished resale.

This story summarizes the student’s account in the archived video. Experiences and reported results are individual, have not been independently verified, and are not a guarantee of income or funding. Program details may have changed since recording.
